What is a Fire Risk Assessment certificate?
A Fire Risk Assessment systematically identifies fire hazards, evaluates who is at risk and sets out the measures needed to keep people safe. Our assessors review escape routes, fire doors, alarms, signage, emergency lighting and housekeeping, then deliver a prioritised, easy-to-follow action plan.
Why it's worth getting right
Fire safety is a legal duty wherever there are shared or communal areas, and the standards expected of landlords have risen sharply. A current, competent assessment protects lives, demonstrates compliance to councils and insurers, and gives you a clear roadmap for any improvements.
Your legal duty as a landlord
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 — strengthened by the Fire Safety Act 2021 and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 — the 'responsible person' for any building with communal areas, including HMOs and blocks of flats, must carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment. Failure to comply can carry an unlimited fine and risk of imprisonment.
